I am a backend engineer with a deep interest in continually strengthening my understanding of core backend concepts: databases, message queues, distributed systems among others. My daily work revolves around applying and deepening this knowledge, which is exactly what makes it meaningful to me. There is real joy in truly understanding how things work, not just making them work. I also find a lot of meaning in the day-to-day collaboration with my teammates. I am especially proud of my work in the data feeds team's projects, where I have independently owned and delivered components end to end.

Who Are We & What Do We Do?

We want to be the best in the world at using data to answer questions. Therefore, we're committed to building scalable systems for ingesting, analyzing, and creating value from data. Our Engineering team constructs the underlying platform that our products are built on. We're organized into several departments tackling data engineering, infrastructure, and tooling for distribution and growth. The IT Team also reports into Engineering and is responsible for ensuring a seamless and secure tech experience for the entire organization.

Collectively, we are proud to run a small and efficient department. Our teams are typically 3-5 engineers big and multifunctional. We want every team to focus on what's most important to them, so we invest heavily on standardization, building development tools, and peer-to-peer training to maximize our engineers' impact. We utilize CI/CD, execute blameless post-mortems, run healthy business-hours support rotations, and like to automate boring tasks.
