Senior Software Engineer

YipitData specializes in analyzing web data for institutional investors. Four years ago YipitData consisted of 20 people. Since then, we've grown to 90+, have tripled our revenue and expanded our client base to include the largest institutional investors in the world. 

As a Senior Software Engineer at YipitData, you will be responsible for:

  • Owning problems end-to-end, from understanding the user’s need to figuring out a deployment strategy
  • Maintaining a code quality that sets an example for others
  • Architecting solutions that will scale as we continue to grow
  • Providing technical direction to others
  • Maintaining documentation, being available for advice, and otherwise driving adoption of technology and best practices
  • Sharing knowledge with the rest of the team through internal talks and pair programming sessions

We work in small, integrated teams, so you'll need excellent communication skills and need to be adaptive to changing requirements. Scalability and consistency  matter, so you ought have an eye for detail and be conscientious about assumptions in code. Because our products depend heavily on external sources, you should be inquisitive and excited to dig deep into issues.

Although we program in Python, we don’t expect you to know it — as long as you’ve programmed in a modern programming language, we’re confident you will learn the specifics of our technology stack:

  • Cloud hosting in Amazon Web Services with CloudFormation and ECS
  • Databases like Redis, PostgreSQL and Redshift
  • Continuous integration and deployment with GitHub, Travis CI and Buildbot

What’s more, during your first two weeks, we’ll also teach you all about our business, covering topics like:

  • Financial accounting
  • Sell-side research

Technical Account Manager

ReadyPipe is our exciting new web scraping platform enabling businesses to identify actionable insights from data aggregated from the web. With seven years of experience pioneering web data aggregation for the top global hedge funds and asset managers, we’re now making this proprietary technology available to companies in new markets.

As the first Technical Account Manager on the ReadyPipe team, you will:

  • Establish expertise in web scraping technologies and best practices
  • Work directly with clients on a diverse set of challenges, from resolving day-to-day technical issues to providing methodology and system design advice
  • Deeply understand client needs, identify pain points and help design product features to resolve them
  • Optimize and maintain our client training curriculum and Knowledge Base
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Sales to continually improve the product and accelerate its impact on the YipitData business
  • Develop and refine processes for future hires enabling the team to scale

You’re likely to succeed in this role if you:

  • Are excited to dive deep into the world of web scraping at massive scale

The Data Product Associate role is the key driver in our product development and product management. You’ll gain experience in:

  • Programming: Learn Python and SQL or sharpen your existing skills by contributing to all aspects of the development process, from design and implementation to deployment and monitoring.
  • Product Development: Build new products and learn how to create something out of nothing in a fast paced environment.
  • Data: Work with massive amounts of data on the performance of important companies, using proprietary methods. Your comfort with manipulating large data sets and deriving meaningful insights from them, without losing sight of the details, will be critical.

We are hiring a Business Development Manager on our Revenue team. This is a unique role working both on marketing and partnership efforts. This opportunity is a great fit for someone with a consulting or finance background looking to get into tech startups. 

As a Business Development Manager at YipitData:

  • You will grow revenue by generating high-quality leads through:
    • Further developing and scaling our existing digital marketing strategy
    • Working closely with our Product and Research teams to develop data-driven marketing collateral to power digital marketing strategy
    • Working closely with our Sales and Client teams to set goals and understand customer needs
    • Executing conference and events strategy
    • Measuring the effectiveness of marketing efforts and strategies
  • You will develop relationships and negotiate partnerships with third-party sources of data to support YipitData’s product expansion by:
