Electronics surpasses home category on Prime Day October 2022

While Home drove the largest share of sales in Amazon’s July Prime Day, Electronics came out on top in the retailer’s October iteration of its sales event, owning 19% of total sales during the event. Toys and games, meanwhile, had the largest lift in sales during the event – driving the greatest increase in sales during October Prime Day 2022 compared to non-Prime Days 2022.

This Prime Day, more than a third of the Home category GMV was generated by the kitchen and dining subcategory. However, the vacuums and floor care subcategory saw the largest lift during Prime Day compared to non-prime days, suggesting that more customers buy vacuums during sales periods on Amazon.
