Furniture’s GMV Growth Slows at Amazon in 2Q22

Amazon grew its market share 4.70 ppts YoY in 2Q22. Despite last year's Prime Day occurring in June (2Q21) and this year's in July (3Q22), almost all home goods subcategories had positive year-over-year growth, highlighting Amazon’s continued strength in the home goods retail industry. However, performance varied by category.

Lower-priced subcategories like home decor and bath products drove 17.4% and 19.5% GMV growth, respectively, as consumers found affordable ways to upgrade their homes. Furniture, a big-ticket item, was Amazon’s second highest grossing Home & Kitchen subcategory however it only grew 2.5% YoY, the least of any category.
